When working with a law firm on your case, CaseHQ serves as a centralized platform for you to share documents, track case progress, and receive updates. It ensures that all your case-related information is organized and easily accessible in one place.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I access CaseHQ?
To log in to CaseHQ for the first time, you will need to click your unique client portal link. Depending on the link you were sent when you were told your case qualified. This link will start with www.casehq.com, followed by: ?id=XXXXXXX-XX…, i.e. https://casehq.com?id=XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX. If you try to access CaseHQ directly before clicking that link and completing the sign in process, you will receive an error message.
You can access the CaseHQ client portal on both desktop and mobile app.
Desktop:
- Go to www.casehq.com.
- Enter the phone number or email used during case signup and press Continue.
- Check your email or text messages for a one-time login code from CaseHQ. Enter the 6-digit code and press Continue.
- If using email to sign in, make sure your inbox is not too full to receive new emails.
Mobile App:
- From your desktop, go to https://casehq.com/download. Here, you will find a QR code you can scan with your mobile device as well as buttons to download for iOS or Android. Scan the code or press the applicable button to download the app to your mobile device.
Alternatively, you can search for the CaseHQ app in your app store.
For iOS Devices: Open the App Store, search for "CaseHQ," and tap Download or Install.
For Android Devices: Open the Google Play Store, search for "CaseHQ," and tap Install. - Once installed, enter the phone number or email used during case signup and press Continue.
- Check your email or text messages for a one-time login code from CaseHQ. Enter the 6-digit code and press Continue.
- If using email to sign in, make sure your inbox is not too full to receive new emails.
What does CaseHQ contain?
CaseHQ is designed to simplify communication and information sharing with your legal team while keeping you updated on your case progress. Inside CaseHQ, you’ll find:
- Case Timeline: A detailed timeline showing your case’s current status and key milestones in the litigation process, ensuring transparency throughout your legal journey.
- Tasks: Action items requiring your attention, such as signing documents or completing questionnaires. Integrated electronic signature technology allows for secure, digital signing, and document sharing lets you upload case-related materials safely.
- Messages: A secure communication channel to stay in touch with your legal team.
- Updates: Important notifications and developments about your case from your law firm.
- Resources: Helpful case-related materials provided by your law firm for easy reference at any time.
What should I do if I'm having trouble with CaseHQ?
Connection Issues
If you’re experiencing issues accessing or using CaseHQ, try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Turn Off Antivirus Software: Temporarily disable your antivirus software, as it might be blocking the portal.
- Disable Ad-Blockers: Ensure that any ad-blocker extensions or apps are turned off, as they can interfere with CaseHQ.
- Use a Different Browser: If the portal isn’t loading correctly, try accessing it through another web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, or Safari).
- Switch Devices: If possible, attempt to log in using another device, such as switching from a phone to a desktop or vice versa.
Document Issues
If you’re having trouble loading a document in CaseHQ, try the following steps:
- Refresh the Page: Reload your screen to see if the document loads properly.
- Log Out and Back In: If refreshing doesn't work, log out of CaseHQ and log back in to reset the session.
Why am I receiving an "Invalid Token" error when trying to sign my documents?
This error may occur if you have multiple cases associated with either:
- The same email but different phone numbers: After entering the token sent to your email, you must verify access to the original phone number you signed up with by entering a second token sent via text. If you no longer have access to that phone number, the token will not be accepted.
- Solution:
- Ensure you are entering the correct token sent to your phone via text.
- If you no longer have access to the original phone number, contact support to update the phone number on the pending case to match your original case.
- Solution:
- The same phone number but different email addresses: After entering the token sent to your phone, you must verify access to the original email used during sign-up by entering a second token sent to that email. If you enter the token from the wrong email, it will not be accepted.
- Solution:
- Ensure you are entering the token sent to the correct email associated with your original case.
- If you no longer have access to that email, contact support to update the email address on the pending case to match your original case.
